A new chapter began on January 2, 2012, as VERSUS became the NBC Sports Network - a 24/7 destination for the same award winning storytelling and top-shelf production that's been synonymous with NBC Sports for over 60 years.
NBC Sports Network, along with NBC Broadcast, will play home to the NHL for the next ten years. For the 2011-2012 season, we'll air 160+ games including the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Finals.
NBC Sports Group and Major League Soccer (MLS) engaged in a multi-year partnership to televise 49 games per season, most of which will be on NBC Sports Network, including four appearances by the U.S. Men's National Team. 2011 was a record year for the MLS, with the highest average attendance and largest number of corporate sponsors since the league began in 1996. The NBC Sports Network will help grow the sport in the United States through our multi-platform coverage on television, digital and mobile.
We also have the unique opportunity to play home to Team USA coverage including volleyball, soccer and basketball, during the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London.
